Why don't the main boy and girl in Polar Express have names?
The boy in the blue robe and the girl don't have names in the polar express, is there a reason why?
The filmmakers gave them the names "Chris" and "Sarah" in the script for the sake of simplicity. I believe Sarah's name is actually spoke once or twice, including the narration at the end.
The book doesn't name the main character either, so the lack of emphasis of names is somewhat fitting. As a kid, I remember thinking, "This could be me."
